I have spent a great deal of my life battling illness. I suffered from Crohn's Disease and eventually had abdominal surgery, thwarting the Crohn's and budding cancer cells. Since my surgery in 1995 I have been relatively free from Crohns', although I had several subsequent surgeries related to my ileostomy..When my disease was in remission, I don't think my husband realized how bad it could get, but he has stood by me. I also have suffered from various autoimmune disorders and am diagnosed with Stage IV Kidney Disease. Fortunately, I am maintaining and do not need dialysis at this point.
We adopted our son and later found out he had cerebral palsy, so he became my career. Dan has had two surgeries and tons of therapy and is able to walk because of it. He is a college graduate and is employed as an Information Specialist. We are very proud of his accomplishements.
I am now part of the retired generation and still getting used to the idea.
I do enjoy crafting, traveling and being with family and friends.
I am active in my church and feel that the hardships we endure are there to build our faith. I like to live life in the "now" as we never know how much time is left.
Just can't decide if I should try Tastefully Simple again, or see if I can get a different traditional job, or just hang in there. I had fun doing TS, and who knows? Maybe I would get new leads and parties?
Today I HAVE to clean...arghhh! Going up north tomorrow for a weekend spiritual retreat. Oh, it's not all Bible reading...there is a pontoon ride, a visit to a waterfall, a wagon ride, lots of neat activities. The craft for the weekend is going to be a decopaged box! I always wanted to do that!
Monday I will have to go back to work. Tuesday is another cleaning day and Wednesday my friend, Judy is coming from Minnesota! Woo hoo! Taking a trip to Peoria to visit another one of our crafty friends. Wonder what ideas she will have?
Don't have any time for craft challenges, unless I get it done tonite. Have a great and crafty weekend!
Yesterday my friend Linda and I went for a ride in the little red convertible. Much more fun on a warm sunny day than housecleaning! The dust will keep. We went to some rummage sales, which we had to limit ourselves to smaller items. However, I did find a nice leather computer chair for only $2! The man delivered it too!
Discussing if we are bringing a craft along on our retreat next weekend. What to bring? Will we really have that much time to craft?
