Changed my profile pic. Love this pic of my bff, Linda and I! We were looking hot!...LOL...as hot as any middle aged women can look!
My Tastefully Simple open house was a bust. Thank God for good friends or I wouldn't have had any orders. Think my career is on it's way out!
Went for a group interview at Kohl's. Even though I would love to work in the jewelry or cosmetics department, don't think Jim is keen on the huge cut in pay. It would take two days to earn just what I get on unemployment! Maybe it is better to just rest up till I get a kidney.
Have been gone almost every weekend! Went with a friend from Minnesota to Peoria to meet another friend and have a craft fest. The friend in Illinois taught me a new card technique (which involves teeny tiny gems) and one stroke painting. My friend from Minnesota taught me about painting light bulbs for ornaments!
The weekend after that Jim and I went to Illinois to go to Rochelle to go to the best pizza place ever....Aldo's. Waited till Saturday and got there when it was closed! Looks like a future road trip! We did enjoy our hotel: The Lexington Cliffbreakers Resort. Beautiful antique furnished rooms, a jacuzzi, great food! Went to the Anderson Japenese Gardens. I highly recommend it if you are in the area.
- I have spent a great deal of my life battling illness. I suffered from Crohn's Disease and eventually had abdominal surgery, thwarting the Crohn's and budding cancer cells. Since my surgery in 1995 I have been relatively free from Crohns', although I had several subsequent surgeries related to my ileostomy..When my disease was in remission, I don't think my husband realized how bad it could get, but he has stood by me. I also have suffered from various autoimmune disorders and am diagnosed with Stage IV Kidney Disease. Fortunately, I am maintaining and do not need dialysis at this point. We adopted our son and later found out he had cerebral palsy, so he became my career. Dan has had two surgeries and tons of therapy and is able to walk because of it. He is a college graduate and is employed as an Information Specialist. We are very proud of his accomplishements. I am now part of the retired generation and still getting used to the idea. I do enjoy crafting, traveling and being with family and friends. I am active in my church and feel that the hardships we endure are there to build our faith. I like to live life in the "now" as we never know how much time is left.
