Went to work this week and I got a warm welcome at the clinic, complete with snacks and signs! On the other hand, my job as a health information (medical records) clerk has come to an abrupt end. Apparently they thought I could run charts, etc while hanging onto crutches! The doctor had restricted me to using crutches and elevating and icing my foot twice during the work day, and they just can't or wouldn't accommodate me. So, I gave my notice. The really crummy part is that I have to take sick/vacation time this weekend. It has gone down sooooooooo much. From now on I am staying away from jobs that require me to be on my feet alot. The clinic job is going good, and I offered to work extra hours, even though I won't have benefits any longer. The money is good and I'm amongst friends.
I am in a brace now and can't wait to get rid of that as it itches, and bugs me in my shoe. Will wear it as I have Jazzercise Lite this morning and exercise in a chair. This afternoon is therapy...woo hoo!
Crazy, crazy dreams! I was a black woman last night, then I was dressing a baby doll, go figure....where does this stuff come from?
Tomorrow I plan on going with my bff to her daughter's house. Just an excuse to get out in the nice weather....and maybe stop at Archivers on the way?
Have a happy day!
- I have spent a great deal of my life battling illness. I suffered from Crohn's Disease and eventually had abdominal surgery, thwarting the Crohn's and budding cancer cells. Since my surgery in 1995 I have been relatively free from Crohns', although I had several subsequent surgeries related to my ileostomy..When my disease was in remission, I don't think my husband realized how bad it could get, but he has stood by me. I also have suffered from various autoimmune disorders and am diagnosed with Stage IV Kidney Disease. Fortunately, I am maintaining and do not need dialysis at this point. We adopted our son and later found out he had cerebral palsy, so he became my career. Dan has had two surgeries and tons of therapy and is able to walk because of it. He is a college graduate and is employed as an Information Specialist. We are very proud of his accomplishements. I am now part of the retired generation and still getting used to the idea. I do enjoy crafting, traveling and being with family and friends. I am active in my church and feel that the hardships we endure are there to build our faith. I like to live life in the "now" as we never know how much time is left.
