About Me

My photo
I have spent a great deal of my life battling illness. I suffered from Crohn's Disease and eventually had abdominal surgery, thwarting the Crohn's and budding cancer cells. Since my surgery in 1995 I have been relatively free from Crohns', although I had several subsequent surgeries related to my ileostomy..When my disease was in remission, I don't think my husband realized how bad it could get, but he has stood by me. I also have suffered from various autoimmune disorders and am diagnosed with Stage IV Kidney Disease. Fortunately, I am maintaining and do not need dialysis at this point. We adopted our son and later found out he had cerebral palsy, so he became my career. Dan has had two surgeries and tons of therapy and is able to walk because of it. He is a college graduate and is employed as an Information Specialist. We are very proud of his accomplishements. I am now part of the retired generation and still getting used to the idea. I do enjoy crafting, traveling and being with family and friends. I am active in my church and feel that the hardships we endure are there to build our faith. I like to live life in the "now" as we never know how much time is left.

Okay, If at first you don't succeed....

Sunday was my great niece's birthday.  She's two now and quite a character.  To prove that point, she decided the purple and orange frosting on her personal Dora cake would make great body paint.  She is always on the go, no matter how tired she is, she doesn't stop until she's put to bed.

Yesterday I made a purchase I just love.  A Vera Bradley quilted purse.  It was $35, which is not money I could afford to spend, but I NEEDED it!....LOL  It has oodles of pockets, zippered pockets, all my favorite colors....how could I NOT buy it?

In the afternoon, I went to the waterpark and met bff, sister and the kids.  Got toasty brown, but have to go back to tan the back of my legs!  I love the Lazy River, and in the words of my bff's grandaughter, "it is wonderful!"

I didn't Jazzercise yesterday because of:   1. I was lazy.  2.  It was too darn humid!  3. No air conditioning there.

I was going to diet.  That doesn't last.  I love my cookies.  I love Chocolate Monster ice  cream too.  (a new discovery)

Today is errand day.  Have a "chocolate monster" kind of day!

A Vera Bradley bag is worth every cent! i have one I bought three years ago and I always go back to it. It wears well, has just the right amount of pockets, and the straps are just the right length!
