About Me

My photo
I have spent a great deal of my life battling illness. I suffered from Crohn's Disease and eventually had abdominal surgery, thwarting the Crohn's and budding cancer cells. Since my surgery in 1995 I have been relatively free from Crohns', although I had several subsequent surgeries related to my ileostomy..When my disease was in remission, I don't think my husband realized how bad it could get, but he has stood by me. I also have suffered from various autoimmune disorders and am diagnosed with Stage IV Kidney Disease. Fortunately, I am maintaining and do not need dialysis at this point. We adopted our son and later found out he had cerebral palsy, so he became my career. Dan has had two surgeries and tons of therapy and is able to walk because of it. He is a college graduate and is employed as an Information Specialist. We are very proud of his accomplishements. I am now part of the retired generation and still getting used to the idea. I do enjoy crafting, traveling and being with family and friends. I am active in my church and feel that the hardships we endure are there to build our faith. I like to live life in the "now" as we never know how much time is left.

Weekly Recap

I went with my sister and Mom to the annual pet expo.  My mom enjoyed petting the dogs and watching them do tricks.  This little guy was rescued and only has one eye.
Mom loves to talk about the Animal Planet Channel.
This dog could jump the red and white pole. Hard to catch a moving target!

A dog who could jump rope!

Work went well this week.  The other day I was so busy....two people on hold, checking someone in another one waiting in line.  When I finally caught up, this lady said, "girl, you really got it going on!"  Well, I took that as a compliment and was telling my coworkers.  Maybe 15 minutes later, things got chaotic and this girl didn't have it going on!....LOL  So now, that is my new catch phrase at work:
"Girl, you really have it going on!"

Next week we are learning another new process.  It should be interesting.  This girl will not have it going on.  It will be nuts, but somehow I will muddle through it.

Need to color my hair, clean the bathroom, do laundry, visit Mom this weekend, etc.  Another week begins!

You have got it going on!
Look what you've achieved in a few short months, there's no holding you back, just put all those bad/negative thoughts clean out of your mind and you'll be fine!
Glad to see your Mom enjoying herself. That little Shitzu is cute!

Have a great week,
Hugs,
