About Me

My photo
I have spent a great deal of my life battling illness. I suffered from Crohn's Disease and eventually had abdominal surgery, thwarting the Crohn's and budding cancer cells. Since my surgery in 1995 I have been relatively free from Crohns', although I had several subsequent surgeries related to my ileostomy..When my disease was in remission, I don't think my husband realized how bad it could get, but he has stood by me. I also have suffered from various autoimmune disorders and am diagnosed with Stage IV Kidney Disease. Fortunately, I am maintaining and do not need dialysis at this point. We adopted our son and later found out he had cerebral palsy, so he became my career. Dan has had two surgeries and tons of therapy and is able to walk because of it. He is a college graduate and is employed as an Information Specialist. We are very proud of his accomplishements. I am now part of the retired generation and still getting used to the idea. I do enjoy crafting, traveling and being with family and friends. I am active in my church and feel that the hardships we endure are there to build our faith. I like to live life in the "now" as we never know how much time is left.

I Need Directions!

Happy Friday!  Today I have off, so am planning a trip up to Door County (the peninsula of Wisconsin) to browse in the shops and have a wonderful lunch with my sister.

Work has had it's ups and downs this week.  It was slow, it was busy, but I survived!  It has been about seven months since I started at that clinic.  This week, some terrible mistakes (made by yours truly) were pointed out to me....so I could learn from them, of course, and I will.  Even though there were many, it was pointed out to me also that we all make mistakes!  Imagine that!  "You made some mistakes. Do it this way.  We all make mistakes."  That's that!  Gosh, I am certainly not used to that approach!

Well, you catch more flies with honey!  I offered to work extra days in August when almost everyone (but me) is taking vacation time.  I don't mind.  I like the extra money.

I have been considering giving up my blog.  After all, what is my purpose?  What is the direction of this blog?  I talk about my Mom, trips, work, just everyday stuff.  What do you think I should do?

I need direction, guidance, advice!

I'd love to give you directions....but my blog is the same way....so I'll see what directions you get....and maybe follow them? Nope, I am my own person....a Thoroughbred (as my mom would say). If I was to give directions I'd say to write what you are passionate about, something that really interests you.

I am back to blogging, I missed it too much.

Blogging should be fun and you write what interests you, not what other people want you too write.

Also what you think is boring, other people find interesting.....

Just my 2 cents worth.

Oh-I think everyone goes through the blogging blahs once in a while. Instead of just giving it up how about taking a short break and seeing if you DO miss it?

I hope you had fun in Door County. We drove up there tonight and had dinner with some old friends. Where did you go for lunch? xo Diana
