About Me

My photo
I have spent a great deal of my life battling illness. I suffered from Crohn's Disease and eventually had abdominal surgery, thwarting the Crohn's and budding cancer cells. Since my surgery in 1995 I have been relatively free from Crohns', although I had several subsequent surgeries related to my ileostomy..When my disease was in remission, I don't think my husband realized how bad it could get, but he has stood by me. I also have suffered from various autoimmune disorders and am diagnosed with Stage IV Kidney Disease. Fortunately, I am maintaining and do not need dialysis at this point. We adopted our son and later found out he had cerebral palsy, so he became my career. Dan has had two surgeries and tons of therapy and is able to walk because of it. He is a college graduate and is employed as an Information Specialist. We are very proud of his accomplishements. I am now part of the retired generation and still getting used to the idea. I do enjoy crafting, traveling and being with family and friends. I am active in my church and feel that the hardships we endure are there to build our faith. I like to live life in the "now" as we never know how much time is left.

Not Much of a Summer

So far it hasn't been much of a Summer.  I have been spending off time either doing laundry, taking naps or visiting Mom.  Yesterday I had great intentions of going to the pool or beach with my sister.  Instead I went to the hospital to see my brother and his wife.  My sister-in-law had an 90% blockage near her heart and had to have a stent put in.  Needless to say, we were all shook up about that!  Thankfully, the surgeon got rid of the blockage and SIL is doing well.

I am debating whether to have a garage sale or not.  They are so much work, and do I want to spend my off days trying to sell my stuff?  What would you do?

Hi- I found your comment on my blog and back linked to find you. Are you from the Manitowoc/Two Rivers area then?

I am your newest follower. I haven't had a garage sale in years. I need to have one but you are right- it is soooo much work and sometimes you don't make enough to make it worth your while...and yet, you hate to just dump the stuff.

God bless you-I read your introduction and I can see that you have had a full plate with health issues in your family. I am so glad that you have the Lord in your life to "see you through". Blessings- Diana
