About Me

My photo
I have spent a great deal of my life battling illness. I suffered from Crohn's Disease and eventually had abdominal surgery, thwarting the Crohn's and budding cancer cells. Since my surgery in 1995 I have been relatively free from Crohns', although I had several subsequent surgeries related to my ileostomy..When my disease was in remission, I don't think my husband realized how bad it could get, but he has stood by me. I also have suffered from various autoimmune disorders and am diagnosed with Stage IV Kidney Disease. Fortunately, I am maintaining and do not need dialysis at this point. We adopted our son and later found out he had cerebral palsy, so he became my career. Dan has had two surgeries and tons of therapy and is able to walk because of it. He is a college graduate and is employed as an Information Specialist. We are very proud of his accomplishements. I am now part of the retired generation and still getting used to the idea. I do enjoy crafting, traveling and being with family and friends. I am active in my church and feel that the hardships we endure are there to build our faith. I like to live life in the "now" as we never know how much time is left.

Between the Snowfalls

We had some wicked snowfalls, and were supposed to be going to Bible Camp two hours away for a scrap booking weekend.  The snow had come down heavy and wet, but by the time we left, the plows and sand trucks had done their job and we made the trip.

I had a personal accident, so we were on a mission for underpants and some jeans.  We stopped at Goodwill and K-mart.  I got what I needed.  The jeans didn't fit, but I wore my sweat pants for the weekend.

  1. The area was beautiful especially with the snowfall.
  2. The food was scrumptious!  Can you imagine cinnamon swirl pancakes with cream cheese frosting?
  3. Made new friends.
  4. Made some fun projects.
  5. Scrapped ALL of my New Orleans pictures!
  6. Won the big raffle prize....a magnetic board for a scrap page or cards.

just some cards

Coming home we stopped at Goodwill in another town.  I found three sweaters all at half price and was able to take back the things from the previous trip that didn't fit.  We ate at the Olive Garden for lunch....Yum!

Work has been going well.  Yesterday we had another huge snowfall...about a foot of new snow.  Hubby had off so he took me to work.  We had to get there early for a meeting.  We barely made it off of our street, but got there just the same.  Hubs shoveled a path for "his princess" to the employee entrance.  I got in and the alarm went off!  I got so nervous, I forgot what to do!  Okay, breathe, call the police and let them know you aren't an intruder, call the security guard.  Finally, got the alarm off!
Phew!
Had just used the grill on Monday night....now look at it!

Got to leave work an hour early yesterday.  We had so many cancellations!  We went to pick up our son from work and ate at Panda Express.  The food was good, but we have several take out Chinese restaurants where we have leftovers and then there are the Chinese buffets as well.  Still, it was a treat.

Got my nails done the other day.  It happened so fast!  I just wanted to know how much it cost and before you knew it , I was getting them done.  Oh well....so pretty!

Your nails are so pretty! The photos don't do your cards justice...they are so nice in real life.

Glad you had a nice weekend in spite of the "pants" episode. Your nails look really nice, too. I don't know about you but I am SOOO sick of this snow- xo Diana

The alarm thing is funny, it may not be funny when it happened to you but because I had done the same thing; I think its funny.
