About Me

My photo
I have spent a great deal of my life battling illness. I suffered from Crohn's Disease and eventually had abdominal surgery, thwarting the Crohn's and budding cancer cells. Since my surgery in 1995 I have been relatively free from Crohns', although I had several subsequent surgeries related to my ileostomy..When my disease was in remission, I don't think my husband realized how bad it could get, but he has stood by me. I also have suffered from various autoimmune disorders and am diagnosed with Stage IV Kidney Disease. Fortunately, I am maintaining and do not need dialysis at this point. We adopted our son and later found out he had cerebral palsy, so he became my career. Dan has had two surgeries and tons of therapy and is able to walk because of it. He is a college graduate and is employed as an Information Specialist. We are very proud of his accomplishements. I am now part of the retired generation and still getting used to the idea. I do enjoy crafting, traveling and being with family and friends. I am active in my church and feel that the hardships we endure are there to build our faith. I like to live life in the "now" as we never know how much time is left.

This and That

How have you all been?  I have been wonderful with the exception of my bff's Mom's passing.  At least she went peacefully.  We will have and share wonderful memories of her today.

Work was good this week!  Woo hoo!  Next week I start training to close the clinic.  Note to self:  TAKE NOTES!

I am really thinking the medication increase is helping me.  That is a good thing.  I am debating whether I really want to or need to take Intermittent Leave of Absence for my depressive episodes.
Monday I have counseling and will discuss it with my counselor.

How was your Valentines' Day?  Mine was okay.  Worked, came home to flowers, candy and a card.  Hubby makes sure to cover all the bases!

I am tired of snow, rain, ice, slush, snow, ....did I say snow?
Ughhh!  I am not a winter person.  I cannot wait till April 7th when I fly to sunny Florida!

I don't like cable companies!  This week we spent a good portion of our time getting our cable/internet working again after calling an 800 number.  Yesterday, my sister and son dealt with another cable company trying to get my Mom's new TV activated.  Finally, a techinician came to fix the problem.  It is a new TV and the color is fine, but Mom is still not satisfied.  Please pray for her and her TV.  I know it sounds strange but it's all she has.

Hey girlie girl... send me your email address and I'll tell you how I bend my spoons :-) Your email is a "no-reply" email when you put comments on peoples blogs. Did you know that? Mine used to be like that too--- until someone told me, then I had to google how to fix it lol
big hugs,
Cheryl
