About Me

My photo
I have spent a great deal of my life battling illness. I suffered from Crohn's Disease and eventually had abdominal surgery, thwarting the Crohn's and budding cancer cells. Since my surgery in 1995 I have been relatively free from Crohns', although I had several subsequent surgeries related to my ileostomy..When my disease was in remission, I don't think my husband realized how bad it could get, but he has stood by me. I also have suffered from various autoimmune disorders and am diagnosed with Stage IV Kidney Disease. Fortunately, I am maintaining and do not need dialysis at this point. We adopted our son and later found out he had cerebral palsy, so he became my career. Dan has had two surgeries and tons of therapy and is able to walk because of it. He is a college graduate and is employed as an Information Specialist. We are very proud of his accomplishements. I am now part of the retired generation and still getting used to the idea. I do enjoy crafting, traveling and being with family and friends. I am active in my church and feel that the hardships we endure are there to build our faith. I like to live life in the "now" as we never know how much time is left.

I've been having issues with my breast.  It has leaked twice.  The incision became a gaping hole.  Yesterday I went to the doctor.  I told her I was ready to sew it shut with fishing line!
We discussed my situation post lumpectomy.  Seems I am not the usual patient.  What else is new?
I found out why I leaked after my lumpectomy. I had a seroma, a fluid filled sac that SOMETIMES occurs.    We figured after leaking twice, it is done.  My incision wouldn't hold with steri - strips, so finally yesterday got real stitches.  It now hurts more than when I had the lumpectomy, but at least it will heal!
I didn't hear from Walgreens so must have flunked the skills test.  I think it was on the scenario questions.  You never know what they want and it depends on company policy.  Oh well, not what God intended for me.
I have been having shopping withdrawal.  Went to thrift stores this week.  I found a top for myself, a sun hat, and a doily for my Mom's bookcase.  Still looking for a battery operated radio.

Ti's a good thing that you are on top of your health issues and that you got some thrift therapy done.
Hope that you recuperate completely soon and enjoy the beginning of summer.
