About Me

My photo
I have spent a great deal of my life battling illness. I suffered from Crohn's Disease and eventually had abdominal surgery, thwarting the Crohn's and budding cancer cells. Since my surgery in 1995 I have been relatively free from Crohns', although I had several subsequent surgeries related to my ileostomy..When my disease was in remission, I don't think my husband realized how bad it could get, but he has stood by me. I also have suffered from various autoimmune disorders and am diagnosed with Stage IV Kidney Disease. Fortunately, I am maintaining and do not need dialysis at this point. We adopted our son and later found out he had cerebral palsy, so he became my career. Dan has had two surgeries and tons of therapy and is able to walk because of it. He is a college graduate and is employed as an Information Specialist. We are very proud of his accomplishements. I am now part of the retired generation and still getting used to the idea. I do enjoy crafting, traveling and being with family and friends. I am active in my church and feel that the hardships we endure are there to build our faith. I like to live life in the "now" as we never know how much time is left.

Babies, Cars and Earrings!

Nothing like sweet babies to cheer one up.  They have no knowledge of the snow, cold, ice, etc.  This is my great nephew, Tommy.  He is four months here and is growing!  I miss him and if it ever gets nice out again, I hope to go visit him!

Yesterday was somewhat balmy out.  14°F  Hubby and I took a trip to Green Bay.  (I had wanted to go in the opposite direction to look at this car).

It is a 2012 Chevy Impala...perfect for me!  Hubby is in no rush.  I don't care....I know what I am interested in and I have looked around the car lots online and studied the specs.  Maybe some day it will get warmer again (the 20's?) and we can go take it for a spin if it's still there.

I digress.  We went to Green Bay to return a scarf that I bought.  It wasn't what I wanted and I had "settled" for it.  Then, the one I wanted showed up on the Christopher and Banks website, so I got it!
Woo hoo!  I ended up getting a pretty pink and gray top for Valentine's Day.  Mind you, it's not the motif, but the color of pink and magenta that remind me of Spring to come.  After that,  I bought some CZ studs for my ears so I can look like I have diamonds!  They aren't as big as the football players diamonds though!  I wear the same earring for days, so I always wanted some sparkly ones!   I also bought some hand weights for when I return to Jazzercise tomorrow.  (I know, not too exciting).  I am excited about returning to Jazzercise though.  Maybe it will help to keep me healthy and young!

Today it got quite ugly out.  I was at my sister's this morning and when I went to pick my son up from work, I had to brush the falling snow off of  my car and just couldn't keep up with the windows till the heat kicked in!  The roads were slick.  I am tired of winter and the slippery roads and cold temps!  How about Spring?

I can see you know what car you want, it looks nice. We each have a Ford Focus and prefer to buy American made cars, to keep our workers employed. Plus the cars are great.
Stay warm and enjoy your sparkly earrings.

That is a nice car, Deb! I hope you can get it. We had that terrible snow here this morning. It was white out conditions out where we are. UGH!!! Can't stand it and I am sooo tired of winter- xo Diana

Wow, what a find...so glad you got some new things to wear. Just makes us feel so much better, especially this time of the year.

Good luck on the Impala...looks beautiful!
