About Me

My photo
I have spent a great deal of my life battling illness. I suffered from Crohn's Disease and eventually had abdominal surgery, thwarting the Crohn's and budding cancer cells. Since my surgery in 1995 I have been relatively free from Crohns', although I had several subsequent surgeries related to my ileostomy..When my disease was in remission, I don't think my husband realized how bad it could get, but he has stood by me. I also have suffered from various autoimmune disorders and am diagnosed with Stage IV Kidney Disease. Fortunately, I am maintaining and do not need dialysis at this point. We adopted our son and later found out he had cerebral palsy, so he became my career. Dan has had two surgeries and tons of therapy and is able to walk because of it. He is a college graduate and is employed as an Information Specialist. We are very proud of his accomplishements. I am now part of the retired generation and still getting used to the idea. I do enjoy crafting, traveling and being with family and friends. I am active in my church and feel that the hardships we endure are there to build our faith. I like to live life in the "now" as we never know how much time is left.

I Need Spring!

Found this on Facebook.  It's the way I feel!  We have -20°F to -30°F wind chill temperatures today.  It is actually 4°  Whoop de doo!

I have been without my own car this week.  My husband has been using mine while his is in the shop.  I feel cooped up.  I have decided that  when I have a car again, I will go out no matter how cold it gets!  I am also viewing another car online.  It is a Chevy Impala in red.  Woo hoo!  Low mileage and priced okay too.  Don't know when I want to look at it or go for a test drive.

This week I volunteered at the reception desk at the Senior Center on Wednesday, went to a Red Hat Queen's planning meeting - always some disagreement there, but enjoyed the lunch!

I have been searching for pictures.  I lost some of my Mexico trip pictures.  I don't know where they are, so I am going through every envelope and organizing by decade and year.  Many don't have negatives, so once I determine what are keepers, I will have to scan them and save them to a zip drive.  Many were taken before online albums and owning a computer.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I realized I take too many pictures and want to save the ones that really matter!

In February my bff and I are going to a scrapbooking retreat and I plan on scrapbooking my trip to St Thomas (2002).   They are in an icky photo album and need to be acid free.

What are you doing this weekend?  I have to get to Hobby Lobby or Goodwill or somewhere!

I need Spring!

Me too....spring where are you? I will take rain over snow for the moisture any day!! We had decent temps yesterday...then they dropped (drasticly) and had winds 50 to 60 mph... Unbelievable! Thank goodness not a lot of snow...(there is my blessing!)

Oh, I laughed out loud...What a year for weather. My friend does genealogy and she said we should still save our pictures in hard copy instead of all om computer for future generations...So, it is great that you still have them in picture form!

We are happy to be far enough South not to be dealing with the bad weather. Take care my friend! Hope the sun comes out and shines on you this week! Hugs!
