About Me

My photo
I have spent a great deal of my life battling illness. I suffered from Crohn's Disease and eventually had abdominal surgery, thwarting the Crohn's and budding cancer cells. Since my surgery in 1995 I have been relatively free from Crohns', although I had several subsequent surgeries related to my ileostomy..When my disease was in remission, I don't think my husband realized how bad it could get, but he has stood by me. I also have suffered from various autoimmune disorders and am diagnosed with Stage IV Kidney Disease. Fortunately, I am maintaining and do not need dialysis at this point. We adopted our son and later found out he had cerebral palsy, so he became my career. Dan has had two surgeries and tons of therapy and is able to walk because of it. He is a college graduate and is employed as an Information Specialist. We are very proud of his accomplishements. I am now part of the retired generation and still getting used to the idea. I do enjoy crafting, traveling and being with family and friends. I am active in my church and feel that the hardships we endure are there to build our faith. I like to live life in the "now" as we never know how much time is left.

Life is such a Blast!

I am not liking this Artic Blast.  I am ready to move to the southern hemisphere as it sounds like the rest of the country is having the awful weather too!  Today we are catching a break.  It is 21° F now.  Good time to run some errands before the second blast comes in.
The wind is still blowing so it can't be too warm, but I'll take it.
Yesterday I had a pleasant surprise.  The person I spoke of in my last post unblocked me from Facebook and messaged me, offering forgiveness and seeking forgiveness for his part in our "disagreement."
I have intentions of going to Jazzercise, but I hate to go anywhere for an hour in this weather.  I bought workout clothes, but it didn't fit so will wear what I own.  I did buy a sports bra.  It is an X-large.  I think bras should come in an X-long too!  (Wink!)
I don't have any resolutions of sorts and would rather not review my year.  It wasn't the best of times.
I am so glad I am retired and can start this new year on a different foot!  Maybe if I had a resolutions, it would be to get healthier this year.
I saw this on Facebook and had to share it with you.  Good words to live by.

I am glad your friend unblocked you and is offering forgiveness. That's a good way to start the year.

Hope you stay warm there-at least we aren't getting a big dump of snow with this cold. xo Diana
