About Me

My photo
I have spent a great deal of my life battling illness. I suffered from Crohn's Disease and eventually had abdominal surgery, thwarting the Crohn's and budding cancer cells. Since my surgery in 1995 I have been relatively free from Crohns', although I had several subsequent surgeries related to my ileostomy..When my disease was in remission, I don't think my husband realized how bad it could get, but he has stood by me. I also have suffered from various autoimmune disorders and am diagnosed with Stage IV Kidney Disease. Fortunately, I am maintaining and do not need dialysis at this point. We adopted our son and later found out he had cerebral palsy, so he became my career. Dan has had two surgeries and tons of therapy and is able to walk because of it. He is a college graduate and is employed as an Information Specialist. We are very proud of his accomplishements. I am now part of the retired generation and still getting used to the idea. I do enjoy crafting, traveling and being with family and friends. I am active in my church and feel that the hardships we endure are there to build our faith. I like to live life in the "now" as we never know how much time is left.

Good Weekend Outdoors

I love my great niece, Mackenzie.  Well I love all my nieces and nephews, but Mackenzie is the first little girl since her Momma was born!  So, when I see her, I love her little girlishness.

Her party was on Friday at Bay Beach in Green Bay, WI.  It was so nice to see my nephew with his boys, my bff 's daughter with her children and friends.  It was a beautiful day with just a bit of a breeze so we didn't get too hot or too cold.

I didn't get any pictures of the kids on the rides.  When my sister and I looked for them, they were on the other side of the park, so we never caught up with them.  Gramma (bff) and Auntie Amy got pictures.  There was the giant slide, the bumper cars, Tilt-a-Whirl ...all for a quarter a piece!

There was a yummy sandwich buffet, salads and birthday cupcakes!

Today I went to Algoma's Shanty Days to look at the crafts.  We ate at Cafe T'lazo  and I forgot to take a picture of my food!  There was nothing new and exciting with the crafts this year, nothing that jumped out at me.  There was a lot of jewelry!  It was nice to be outdoors though!
