About Me

My photo
I have spent a great deal of my life battling illness. I suffered from Crohn's Disease and eventually had abdominal surgery, thwarting the Crohn's and budding cancer cells. Since my surgery in 1995 I have been relatively free from Crohns', although I had several subsequent surgeries related to my ileostomy..When my disease was in remission, I don't think my husband realized how bad it could get, but he has stood by me. I also have suffered from various autoimmune disorders and am diagnosed with Stage IV Kidney Disease. Fortunately, I am maintaining and do not need dialysis at this point. We adopted our son and later found out he had cerebral palsy, so he became my career. Dan has had two surgeries and tons of therapy and is able to walk because of it. He is a college graduate and is employed as an Information Specialist. We are very proud of his accomplishements. I am now part of the retired generation and still getting used to the idea. I do enjoy crafting, traveling and being with family and friends. I am active in my church and feel that the hardships we endure are there to build our faith. I like to live life in the "now" as we never know how much time is left.

This and That

One upon a time, the sun was shining and there was a light breeze.  My best friend, her grandsons and myself ventured out to Bay Beach Amusement Park in Green Bay to meet up with my niece (her stepdaughter) and her family.
It was nice just walking around, watching the kids enjoy the rides.  (Oh, I enjoyed the Scrambler, but one ride was enough for me!)

Next time I am going to go on The Zippin Pippin!  I challenged my niece to go on with me!  It is an old wooden roller coaster.  I don't like heights.  I don't like roller coasters.  The ride is short, and I think I should just bite the bullet and do it so I can say I did!

Went on the train with the littlest grandson.  He loves the train!  You get to see the grounds and this beautiful view of the bay.

Found this at the thrift store!  Can't wait to hang all my belts, scarves and a few  purses on it!
Did my nails last night with the  the Jamberry wraps.

I love the iridescent design on these!  You can't see the boo boos!

Bay Beach is still the best bargain around, isn't it? I miss the old train though-with the open cars. LOVE the roller coaster- it is a great old one. Did you know my youngest daughter got married out back of the pavilion a few years ago? It was the first wedding held there in 40 years. It was just a wonderful day. xo Diana

I love your photos, Deb, and the Scrambler and other amusement park rides have evoked some wonderful childhood memories for me! :)
