About Me

My photo
I have spent a great deal of my life battling illness. I suffered from Crohn's Disease and eventually had abdominal surgery, thwarting the Crohn's and budding cancer cells. Since my surgery in 1995 I have been relatively free from Crohns', although I had several subsequent surgeries related to my ileostomy..When my disease was in remission, I don't think my husband realized how bad it could get, but he has stood by me. I also have suffered from various autoimmune disorders and am diagnosed with Stage IV Kidney Disease. Fortunately, I am maintaining and do not need dialysis at this point. We adopted our son and later found out he had cerebral palsy, so he became my career. Dan has had two surgeries and tons of therapy and is able to walk because of it. He is a college graduate and is employed as an Information Specialist. We are very proud of his accomplishements. I am now part of the retired generation and still getting used to the idea. I do enjoy crafting, traveling and being with family and friends. I am active in my church and feel that the hardships we endure are there to build our faith. I like to live life in the "now" as we never know how much time is left.

Time Out

I am taking a time out.  I don't write my blog daily like some do, but when I do, it just takes up too much of my time.

It is Spring/Summer?  I want to do things.  I am so behind in everything.  I spend too much time on the computer.  I have to try and cut down.  Facebook sucks the time and life right out of me!

These are my thoughts this early Saturday morning.  I must hang the washed curtains back up at church (no, they don't hang in the sanctuary!)  I am going with my niece to visit my nephew and his fiancé.   We are going to a parade and having a cookout.  I am looking forward to that.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Oh boy, do I understand! This happens to me too. I was reading an article yesterday about scheduling your time, and that includes computer time. She'd set her alarm for "x" amount of computer time...when the alarm went off...she shut it down until the next day!! Wish I could do that! Lol Hope you had a fun day..sounded like you had a wonderful .full" day planned!

Blessings,
Gert

I do my blog daily, because, for myself, it helps reduce some stress, as it helps to take my focus off health and stress in my life, but this is just me. If it makes you happy to do posts once a week, say, then this is great. If it feels burdensome, then it isn't a joy, right? :)
