About Me

My photo
I have spent a great deal of my life battling illness. I suffered from Crohn's Disease and eventually had abdominal surgery, thwarting the Crohn's and budding cancer cells. Since my surgery in 1995 I have been relatively free from Crohns', although I had several subsequent surgeries related to my ileostomy..When my disease was in remission, I don't think my husband realized how bad it could get, but he has stood by me. I also have suffered from various autoimmune disorders and am diagnosed with Stage IV Kidney Disease. Fortunately, I am maintaining and do not need dialysis at this point. We adopted our son and later found out he had cerebral palsy, so he became my career. Dan has had two surgeries and tons of therapy and is able to walk because of it. He is a college graduate and is employed as an Information Specialist. We are very proud of his accomplishements. I am now part of the retired generation and still getting used to the idea. I do enjoy crafting, traveling and being with family and friends. I am active in my church and feel that the hardships we endure are there to build our faith. I like to live life in the "now" as we never know how much time is left.

Kaan's Kozy Kraft House Kraziness!

I had a busy weekend!  I went with two of my friends and met up with five other women to scrapbook for the weekend.  We went to Kaan's Kozy Kraft House .  It is in Belgium, WI and not far to drive.  I am amazed that we managed to get ourselves into the car with all that we had packed for a weekend!

This is a flip page that we made of the house.

I also worked on my pocket letter exchange, made a necklace, and got SOME pages done on my San Antonio trip.  I think I will still be scrapbooking it on my next retreat!
Here are some of my favorite pages:  (I got a glare off of the sleeves.)

The necklace I made
I also used a cricut machine to cut out a bunch of apples for my Red Hat party favors, and of course, I can't show my pocket letter here.
A great bunch of talented and beautiful ladies!
Fun times!

Scrapbooking groups are becoming a lost art here. So many are doing digital books. I love my photos. I've got to get busy with one of my parents. I think it's a healing project. When my kids left for college, I made 10 scrapbooks in a three year period of all their growing up years. I treausre them and get them out often. Right now since our move, they are still in the trunk of my car.
