About Me

My photo
I have spent a great deal of my life battling illness. I suffered from Crohn's Disease and eventually had abdominal surgery, thwarting the Crohn's and budding cancer cells. Since my surgery in 1995 I have been relatively free from Crohns', although I had several subsequent surgeries related to my ileostomy..When my disease was in remission, I don't think my husband realized how bad it could get, but he has stood by me. I also have suffered from various autoimmune disorders and am diagnosed with Stage IV Kidney Disease. Fortunately, I am maintaining and do not need dialysis at this point. We adopted our son and later found out he had cerebral palsy, so he became my career. Dan has had two surgeries and tons of therapy and is able to walk because of it. He is a college graduate and is employed as an Information Specialist. We are very proud of his accomplishements. I am now part of the retired generation and still getting used to the idea. I do enjoy crafting, traveling and being with family and friends. I am active in my church and feel that the hardships we endure are there to build our faith. I like to live life in the "now" as we never know how much time is left.

So Many Committments, So Little Time!

Saturday night my bff had us over for a cook out!  Everything was so good when you have good company, weather and enjoy it outdoors!  There were no mosquitos either!  Woo hoo!
I have a mess in my house.  I was collecting things for a garage sale, but it is being postponed till next summer!  I need to price some things and put them in a corner in the basement.  In the meanwhile, I have jewelry in my living room and dining room, and boxes and such in my computer room.  I will deal with it when I get back....
Next weekend I am going to a Scrapbooking Retreat!  I had to organize my photos from my San Antonio trip.  I have to pack up my tools, etc.  That too, is in my living room!
I made a commitment to participate in a pocket letter swap through Debbie at Garage Sale Girl. This is my first pocket letter swap.  I need to make 9 ATC's and get creative.  Oh, did I tell you it is due in two weeks?
I need to make 19 party favors for our September Red Hat meeting.  (September 1st!).  The theme is back to school.  Time to play with my Cricut!
I am mentally prioritizing my projects.  It will ALL get done!
I have blogging questions.
1.  I have been having a heck of time changing my blog picture!  I have Google BlogSpot.  Everytime I choose a photo of myself, it says it is too big.
2.  I would love to "clean up" my blogs that I no longer follow.  I don't know how to do this either.
3.  I would love to add blogs that I follow to my title page, but don't know how to do that either.

Oh sweet girl! Your list looks like mine. I'm not a muti-tasker and I'm not balancing things well right now. As for blogging and photos and what-not, I continue to be a rookie even at 4 years of blogging. Shoot. My mind just won't get it all. I tried to change my header and as you can see, it's not centered. I tried to look it up on Youtube and it was all over my head. I tried to do another background and it messed up my whole blog. So, it's staying like it is. I've missed some blogs because I don't know how to put on my reading list. Must be our retired minds.

Busy FUN!!! Maybe on your retreat you could make some of the ATC for the swap!?
I can't remember how to change/edit your sidebar..go to the dash board and see what you find...that makes no sense...sorry!!!

Hi Deb!

If you wish to add a list of blogs that you read on your blog, you must go to the layout in your dashboard and then "add a gadget". Scroll down until you see blogroll and just click on that! As far as removing blogs that you no longer follow this is more complicated and I cannot help you with this because you need to have Google+ to do it. :( There are a few blogs that I no longer follow so what I do is just scroll past them in my news reader. Since I don't want to get Google+ I am stuck doing things this way, but a few fellow bloggers have told me that they got Google+ and it made a mess of things. For example, some people who have gotten Google+....I am no longer able to comment on their blogs because their settings only allow other Google+ followers to comment. :(

I hope I am not confusing you and hope I have helped a bit. Try putting on your blogroll, as this is easier to do, and in my view, a lot less complicated than removing blogs you no longer follow. Just add the links of blogs that you like and you do follow (hope I am one of them...LOL!) :) and perhaps instead of using your reader list/dashboard you can follow the blogs right from your blog!
